Pelvis Injuries in Motor Vehicle Accidents

December 12, 2017 by Robbins Law, P.C.

Pelvis injuries are painful and can require a very lengthy recovery time. Some pelvis injures are life threatening. Severe injuries to the pelvis can mean that you may not be able to walk again. You may have suffered organ damage which can be permanent. If you have suffered pelvis injury in a car accident, you may be facing very high medical expenses, a long period of lost income and, in some case, the inability to return to work. The experienced Georgia car accident attorneys of Robbins Law, PC are here to help you during this difficult time.

Pelvis Injuries Caused by Seat Belts

Although pelvis injuries are very serious and can be life-threatening, when caused by seatbelts. they are often the better outcome in accidents that would have otherwise caused even worse injuries.

When functioning properly, your seat belt and shoulder harness holds your body firmly in place, preventing or minimizing the chance of a wide range of potentially fatal injuries such as brain injuries and ejection injuries. But all that force still has to go somewhere. The lap belt is designed to be worn across your pelvis on the hip bones, not your stomach or waist. When worn properly, the lap belt portion of your seat belt can cause pelvis injuries, but this is preferable to the severe internal injuries caused by wearing the belt too high.

If you have suffered a pelvis injury in a car accident in Atlanta or Sandy Springs, Georgia, please call Robbins Law, PC at 800-772-5555 or contact us online right away. We are here to help you and your family get the compensation you deserve.
